Three Tours To Suit Your Taste
New Orleans Green Tours has three different booking options, including a 2 hour French Quarter walking tour, a self-guided biking tour, and custom private group tours.
-
French Quarter Walking Tour
Enjoy a 2 hour guided walking tour through the French Quarter, starting across from Jackson Square, participants will travel through time and down the Mississippi River, learning about the city’s history with water. The tour describes how water has shaped the food, music, and culture of New Orleans, as well as the city’s future through the impacts of climate change. The tour also includes watering hole stops where we take river diversions into topics of cancer alley, coastal degradation, and restoration. This tour is open to everyone ages 18 and up and is excellent for those new to the subject.
-
Self-Guided Bike Tour
The songs and related stories from artists will help narrate a contemporary story of New Orleans and the ways levees, potholes, and pipes shape the city. While New Orleanians recall the pain and trauma that highlight our resiliency as a region and city, we often forget that it was not mother nature that failed us, but our built environment. This tour will give listeners a newfound appreciation for the city’s water management backdrop and its impact on the city’s history, culture, food, and pain 16 years after Hurricane Katrina. This tour begins at Crescent Park and meanders around historic New Orleans, ending at the End of The World; overlooking the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, where the levees broke. This tour can be completed at the pace of participant over hours or days.
-
Custom Guided Group Tour
Want a closer look and a unique experience to go with your conference or event? TWC is happy to accommodate groups based on their interest and needs. We can customize the above tours and include specialty boat tours of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, Sewerage and Water Board Pumping stations, various Water Infrastructure in New Orleans, and projects outside Orleans Parish for a deeper look at rural water management projects. We can also organize volunteer opportunities and lunch if requested. Custom tours are ideal for schools, conferences, volunteer groups, and family reunions. When booking custom tours, we can also book transportation, dining and catering options, and meeting spaces as needed.
